Flat-fee Amsterdam affiliate tool with the widest platform coverage in its bracket (Wix, Squarespace, Magento included). 0% of sales, never touches the money; "automated payouts" is a Trolley add-on with conditions.
Tapfiliate is the Amsterdam tool that's been around since 2014 and plugs into almost everything: Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Magento, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Zapier, and a dozen more. It charges a flat monthly fee, takes 0% of sales, and never touches the money. All of that is good. What you need to know is that "automated payouts" is a $49 to $149 add-on through a third party that won't work for half the people who want it, and that the trial takes a card and bills it.
I haven't run a program on Tapfiliate. This is a research listing, from tapfiliate.com (pricing, terms, affiliate program), the Tapfiliate support centre, and Capterra reviews. Third-party claims are marked.
Disclosure: the link on this page is my affiliate link. Tapfiliate pays me if you sign up through it. That hasn't changed a word of what follows, and you can go to tapfiliate.com directly if you'd rather.
Tapfiliate B.V. started in Amsterdam in 2014, which makes it one of the older SaaS affiliate tools still trading under its own name. In 2021 it was bought by Admitad, the affiliate network founded in Germany by Alexander Bachmann, and Admitad's parent later rebranded itself as Mitgo. So the company behind Tapfiliate is a network holding company, in the same way that Everflow's or TUNE's owners are, and the product has stayed a self-serve tool rather than being folded into the network. Third-party on the ownership chain; the Mitgo connection is on Tapfiliate's own site.
Businesses on a platform the SaaS-native tools don't support. If you're on Wix, Squarespace, Magento, PrestaShop, OpenCart or Memberful, Tapfiliate is one of the few polished options that already has your integration. For Stripe and Shopify stores there's more choice, but Tapfiliate still fits.
Programs that need multi-tier commissions, affiliate groups, commission caps and bonuses, and are willing to pay $179 a month for them. That's the Scale plan, and it's where the product gets interesting.
Companies that want to keep payouts entirely in their own hands. Tapfiliate's default model is: it tells you who's owed what, you pay them, you mark it paid. If you already run mass pay through PayPal or Wise, that's a feature.
Anyone under 50 affiliates who wants multi-tier or payout automation. Both are Scale-only, so the real entry price for a program with any structure is $179, not $89.
Anyone who assumes "automated payouts" means Tapfiliate pays affiliates. It doesn't, and the add-on that does has conditions. More below.
Anyone on Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Chargebee, Polar, Kajabi, ThriveCart, Teachable, Thinkific or Gumroad. None of those are supported. FirstPromoter covers most of that list.
Anyone who's going to forget the trial. A card is required, and the account bills when the trial ends. A 2020 Capterra reviewer says he was billed with no email warning and refused a refund. One review, six years old, but the card-up-front policy hasn't changed.
0% of sales. Trials are 7, 14 or 30 days depending on the plan, card required, auto-bill.
The overages are where a flat fee stops being flat. Launch charges $1.50 per 1,000 clicks over 5,000 and $15 per 1,000 conversions over 500. Scale charges $1 per 1,000 clicks over 100,000 and $10 per 1,000 conversions over 10,000.
Worked example. A Launch program doing 8,000 clicks and 700 conversions a month: $89 plus $4.50 for the clicks plus $3 for the conversions, so $96.50. That's a small overage, and it's the honest kind, because clicks and conversions are a volume you can see. Compare Rewardful and FirstPromoter, which step you up a whole tier when affiliate revenue crosses a line. Tapfiliate's model is kinder to a program that converts well on low volume.
The 50-affiliate cap on Launch is the lever. A program that works will pass it, and then you're on Scale whether or not you need anything else on it.
Money never passes through Tapfiliate. The default is: Tapfiliate settles balances, generates a payout file, you pay affiliates through PayPal, Wise, your bank, whatever, and mark them paid. Every plan.
The "automated payouts" on the feature list are a Trolley integration (Trolley being a payout platform, formerly Payment Rails). It costs another $49 a month for payments, or $149 with Trolley's tax module, on top of Scale. And the conditions, from Tapfiliate's own support article: Trolley's PayPal API works for US merchants only; Trolley won't onboard MLM, CBD, crypto, gambling or firearms businesses. So a European company running a multi-tier program, which is exactly the Scale customer, can't use the automation the Scale plan advertises.
There's a "hands-free payout service" on the roadmap. As of this writing it says coming soon, which means plan without it.
No tax handling without the Trolley tax module. No payout invoices generated for affiliates. If you're in the EU and your affiliates need self-billed invoices, that's a spreadsheet.
The integration list. Twenty-plus native integrations, and the unusual ones (Wix, Squarespace, Magento, PrestaShop, OpenCart, Memberful, Pipedrive) are where it earns its place. If your platform is on that list and nothing else's, the decision is made.
Full export. CSV or XLSX of affiliates, conversions, customers and reports, emailed to you, plus a REST API. That's as clean as this category gets.
Scale's feature set is deep for the price: multi-tier, groups, per-group commissions, caps, bonuses, deep linking, white-label portal. The same features on a network-grade tool start at $299.
And a well-paid affiliate program of its own, which tells you something about how it grows: $178 one-time per paying customer, or 20% recurring for twelve months, on a 45-day cookie. As someone who promotes software, that's a bounty that gets my attention, and it's probably why so many "best affiliate software" lists put Tapfiliate near the top. Weight the reviews accordingly.
Three out of five. Reviewers describe the admin as "navigations within navigations," and a 2021 Capterra reviewer called the early integration "a huge pain" with API changes breaking things. Support runs on Netherlands hours, so a North American afternoon problem waits overnight. The tracking itself is a script plus the platform integration, so a Shopify or Stripe setup is quick; a custom integration is a developer afternoon.
One term worth knowing before you white-label: affiliates who registered before you turned on the custom domain can't log in on it (Terms, section 4.7). Turn it on before you recruit, not after.
What gets you out: full export, API, monthly billing, no contract, no money held by Tapfiliate because it never has any. One of the cleaner exits in the SaaS bracket.
What keeps you in: the links, which route through Tapfiliate and die with the account, and the affiliate logins. A multi-tier structure on Scale needs a multi-tier destination. And the integrations: if you chose Tapfiliate because it was the only one with Squarespace, you'll be choosing it again.
Two.
Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Magento, PrestaShop, OpenCart, Memberful, Recurly, PayPal, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Zoho, Zapier, Make, Pabbly. REST API.
Not supported: Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Chargebee, Polar, Kajabi, ThriveCart, Teachable, Thinkific, Gumroad, ClickFunnels.
Export affiliates, conversions and customers to CSV from the dashboard, or pull them through the API. Settle every outstanding balance and pay it yourself, because there's nothing held at Tapfiliate to release later. Build the new program, email affiliates their new links, then cancel at the end of the billing month. If you're on Trolley, close that separately; it's a separate subscription with its own billing.
My opinion, labelled as such: Tapfiliate is a solid, flat-fee, keep-your-own-money affiliate tool with the widest platform coverage in its bracket, and the right pick if you're on Wix, Squarespace, Magento or one of the other platforms nobody else bothers with. On Scale it's a lot of program for $179.
It's the wrong pick if the thing you wanted was for someone else to pay your affiliates, because that's an add-on with a list of exclusions, and it's the wrong pick for a small single-tier program, where $89 buys less than Affonso at €15 or Rewardful at $49. If you want multi-tier and managed payouts in one tool without the Trolley conditions, FirstPromoter does three tiers and runs managed payouts on its upper plans. Pick Tapfiliate for the integration, not for the payout promise.

The cheapest serious affiliate tool for Stripe, Paddle and Polar SaaS: €15/mo entry with revenue caps, managed payouts from €29, tax forms at €79. Young company, export is "email the founder". Directify runs its program on it.
B2B SaaS affiliate tool with a built-in marketplace of SaaS-literate affiliates. The cheapest network for B2B software, but the marketplace is $399/mo annual-only and the $99 entry plan is a 12-month contract. Research-backed review.
Stripe, Paddle and Chargebee affiliate tool with one-invoice auto payouts, tax forms, and an MCP server. $99/mo entry (up from $29 in 2023), 2% on payouts, single-tier, three native integrations. Research-backed review.
